A Silent explosion is not quite disturbing

Tânia Carvalho is one of the founders of the Lisbon dance and live art collective, Bomba Suicida. Driven by a creative bond between them Tânia and Portuguese writer Patricia Caldeira, devised this piece with Patricia writing stories throughout the conception and rehearsal period. The performance does not aim to illustrate the written stimuli, but rather express sensations that remain in the body after and during Tânia’s reading of the work.

New Work – performed by the Company of Elders

With over 1,000 years of combined experience, Sadler’s Wells’ Company of Elders bring a new understanding and maturity to Laban’s stage. The company consists of 20 dancers, all over the age of 60, 16 of whom performed at last years Movimento4 showing the work of Clara Andermatt. They have also performed in London, Lagos and Moscow. The company of Elders has an ensemble spirit that you won’t find with any other dance company. This premier performance is the culmination of a months intensive workshopping with choreographer Tânia Cavralho.
